I did not find any contemporary source for this case: it appears in the years 1969 and following in Jacques Vallée's catalog, where the source is said to be "personal".
Vallée said that on October 1, 1954, at 04:00 p.m., in Bry, France, man and his dog were "paralyzed" as a luminous white object dived toward them and climbed again.
This has been republished several dozen times in the UFO literature, with no indicateion of source other than Vallée, and no other information.

BRY (VAL DE MARNE : FRANCE)
A man and his dog were paralysed as a luminous white object dived towards them and climbed again.
Vallee Case 171 citing "personal"
The information is totally insufficient.
Let me note:
I did not find a contemporary source so far; the lack of a correct source reference from Vallée certainly did not help.
As for all other 1954 French cases of the Vallée catalogue, I found at least one previous source, I guess there must exist a previous source, maybe more informative.
When Vallée said the source is "personal", it did not mean that he had a personal knowledge of the case, it only meant that he has a source in his file.
The thing that dove and climbed again might have been a helicopter, for example. We are not even told whether the thing was noisy or silent... The "paralysis" is not really assessed to be outside some ordinary fear.
(These keywords are only to help queries and are not implying anything.)
