Summary:

In a general catalog of observations of the Gironde written by the Bordeaux section of the CFRU, published in the ufology magazine Ouranos in the fourth quarter of 1973, it is said that according to the newspaper Sud-Ouest for October 2, 1954, the following observation took place:

On October 1st 1954, at 4 p.m., in Bordeaux, Messrs. Mangin, Lafargue and Lemongat saw an unknown object above the Place de la Comédie, which was observed with binoculars.

There were other witnesses at the Capuchins and at the Place de la Victoire.

The object was a sounding-balloon.
