Tarbes, 28. -- As he was leaving Tarbes this morning at 6 a.m., accompanied by his wife, a truck driver noticed a strange white glow in his rearview mirror.
Intrigued, he stopped and saw, less than 50 meters away, a mysterious craft taking off. "This craft," said the truck driver, "had the shape of a cauldron as big as a 5-ton truck and was rising rapidly at a 45-degree angle, leaving behind a large white trail."
In Florence, a squadron of flying saucers appeared above a football field, interrupting a highly engaging match for half an hour. If it was a case of mass hallucination, it was a significant one — 15,000 spectators went home convinced of the existence of the mysterious craft.
Amusing detail: the field where the interrupted football match was taking place is called "The Field of Mars."
According to the witnesses, the saucers were shiny and flying at a fairly high altitude. They left behind a kind of web-like trail, part of which fell to the ground and was collected by passersby.
