FORBACH (from our correspondent). — On Thursday evening, around 7:20 PM, while returning from his delivery route, the driver of the Coca-Cola company, Mr. Bou Charles, 30 years old, residing in Stiring-Wendel, 21 Rue Nationale, was on National Road No. 3 after passing through Rosbruck, at the entrance of Morsbach, when suddenly his attention was drawn to an object on the road.
Mr. Bou, surprised, thought it was a traffic accident and stopped his truck a few meters from the object.
It was then, as he got out of his vehicle, that he realized it was a circular craft about 9 meters in diameter and approximately 4 meters in height (more than twice the height of an average man), illuminated by several beams of light directed toward the ground.
As he approached and was only a few meters away from this strange craft, Mr. Bou suddenly saw the object take off vertically, rising about 10 meters into the air, before propelling itself in the direction of Morsbach.
The entire scene unfolded within a few seconds before the astonished driver. Still shaken by the event, Mr. Bou resumed his journey, reported the incident to his employer, and then went to inform the gendarmerie.
Captain Bohler, upon being notified, went to the scene with Mr. Bou but could not find any traces on the roadway. He questioned the driver at length, who stated that the saucer had the shape of a giant plate and was blue in color.
He saw no openings or occupants. When the craft took off, it made no noise, caused no air displacement, and did not change color.
At the time of the sighting, it was raining, and Mr. Bou reported that when the object ascended and disappeared, it was traveling at an excessive speed, incomparable to that of a jet aircraft.
The most astonishing aspect of the incident is that just moments before, while visiting a client in Merlebach, Mr. Bou had stated that he did not believe in these flying saucer stories. He was all the more terrified when he witnessed this craft.
The driver, whom we saw during his interrogation by Captain Bohler, appeared to be sincere and was still visibly shaken yesterday morning.
