They exist...
The magazine "U.S. News and World Report" claims that they are built by the Navy.
New York, April 4 (S.P)
AN ARTICLE IN AN AMERICAN MAGAZINE, A RADIO BROADCAST BY A JOURNALIST, BOTH PROVIDING DISTURBING DETAILS AND THERE IS THE AMERICAN NAVY OBLIGED TO DENIAL, WITHOUT DENIAL: IT WAS INTERESTED IN FLYING SAUCERS, BUT IT ABANDONED THE TESTS, AT LEAST IT CLAIM.
But one observation seems to be necessary: flying saucers are not a pure creation of the imagination. They do indeed exist and are part of the arsenal of the latest aerial vehicles due to human ingenuity.
The American magazine "U.S. News and World Report" states that flying saucers are similar to airplanes and helicopters, that they are powered by jet and piston engines, and that they are set to revolutionize aeronautical technology.
The first one - and the Navy recognizes this one - was built in 1942 by Chance Vought Shipyards. It was ellipsoidal in shape and flew at 800 kilometers, landing at 50 kilometers per hour. Since then, it has made progress: it is said to be composed of three superimposed metal disks 30 meters in diameter and 3 meters thick. The craft is completely manoeuvrable.
It is said to exceed the speed of sound, it is powered by jet engines... but the fuel used is unknown.
The radio commentator, H. Taylor, gave an additional clarification: the saucers are registered X F 5 J.
Mr. Taylor stated that several models of flying saucers were currently being tested on behalf of the American Navy, ranging from 60 centimeters in diameter to 15 thick to nearly 100 meters in diameter.
The journalist stated that two saucers had been found in Texas and they bore a sign ordering, under penalty of prosecution, the person who found them to keep the secret and to telephone an air base whose number appeared on the saucer with the note "non-explosive".
In view of the nuanced denials of the Navy, it is noted that this ministerial department has used credits double those of the air force for research on secret devices.
Key-West, April 4.
President Truman is not aware of the existence of flying saucers as a secret belonging to in the United States or any other country, White House spokesman Charles Ross said Tuesday.
Ross made the statement to reporters who were questioning him about the article published in the weekly "U.S. New and World Report" that flying saucers are a secret weapon of the United States Navy.
Paris, April 4.
Madrid radio reports that four members of the National Institute of Cinematographic Documentation in Palma de Mallorca "saw and photographed a flying saucer." The photograph, the first of its kind, was reportedly published by newspapers on the island of Mallorca and throughout Spain.
