A rumor was circulating in Sedan yesterday morning that a resident had seen Martians. At this time of year, when "flying saucers" and other fantastic apparitions seem to have become commonplace, we were really behind schedule in the Sedan area.
Mr. Sadi Levy didn't take the incident so lightly, and it was a completely distraught man that the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Jean Poggiati, and the waitresses of the "Croix de Malte" café on Place Turenne, saw him enter Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. 20 in their establishment.
It must be said that Mr. Sadi Levy, an agricultural machinery salesman who lives on Place de la Halle in Sedan, has some family ties to the café owners, which explains why he wanted to tell his story to the first acquaintances he met along the way.
Panting and still overcome with extraordinary emotion, Mr. Levy recounted a mind-boggling adventure to his stunned listeners:
He was returning from Vrigne-aux-Bois at the wheel of his tractor-trailer when, near the Montimont brickyard, the car suddenly stopped. Horrified, Mr. Levy saw two strange and terrifying shapes in its headlights: small, phosphorescent green beings with large eyes and a tail. This is how he described this apparition to everyone who questioned him. Suddenly, the extraordinary vision disappeared and the car began to move.
What exactly did Mr. Levy see? Was he the victim of a hallucination? One thing is certain: his panic was noted shortly afterward by several witnesses.
The gendarmerie, which learned of the incident, opened an investigation into the matter.
