Washington, 1st. -- The U.S. Coast Guard Service today released the first photograph of a flying saucer, which was taken at Salem, Mass., on the morning of July 16 by Coast Guard sailor Shell Alpert. The photograph shows four round objects with two rays of light extending slightly forward and aft, grouped in a V shape. The sailor who took the photograph stated that he heard no sound and was unable to determine the direction, altitude, or speed of the mysterious objects. Another sailor, who was with him, corroborated his testimony.
