Dayton, Ohio, 1st. -- Two jet pilots reported to their superiors at Wright Patterson Air Force Base that they saw a bright, red object today while flying at about 18,000 feet. The object hovered over their planes, they saw it for 10 seconds and then it disappeared at high speed. The two pilots took off from Wright Patterson Air Force Base at 2:45 p.m. local time Friday after the base received several reports that flying saucers had been flying over the area. "We deliberately circled to make sure it was not a luminous reflection; at first the object was red and white, then only white."
This is the first time that pilots specially charged with monitoring the sky following the announcement of the appearance of flying saucers have made a categorical statement.
