'MYSTERY DISKS' LIGHT BEAMS, OBSERVERS SAY

Testimony that the "mysterious flying disks" spotted by a Berverly Hills resident Wednesday night were nothing more than searchlight beam reflections on clouds was given yesterday by five observers who witnessed the alleged phenomenon.

William H. Sullivan, 1105 N. Avon St., Burbank; C. T. Grove, 11132 Plainview Ave., Tujunga, and a Montsrose housewife who declined to give her name were agreed that the "disks" were merely light reflections.

Dr. and Mrs. Frank Newcomb of 620 St. John Ave., Pasadena, saw several oval-shaped objects "apparently nothing but light" flash across the sky about 8 p.m.

She Heard Noise

But the plot thickened when Mrs. Elsie Brooks of 6351 Paissac St.. Huntington Park, telephoned The Times to report that she saw "something silvery with a tail that looked like a comet" flashing across the sky just before sundown. [Probable meteor]

I heard a whizzing noise and I wen outside to investigate," Mrs Brooks related. "Whatever this thing was, it was traveling north to south very fast."
