In 1982, the ufology group ADRUP, in Dijon, published a catalog of all flying saucer sighting reports published in the daily newspaper Le Bien Public of Dijon.
We learn there that the newspaper had published on October 21, 1954, that in Montjouvent, at the same time as the observation in Chambéria, the inhabitants saw a kind of sphere which split in two blue luminous jets, resembling a huge shooting star.

WHY 1954?
The French flap of 1954 is today more than controversial.
Thus, A.D.R.U.P. wanted to make a compilation of all the documents published in a Burgundy daily newspaper:
"Le Bien Public".

THURSDAY OCTOBER 21: "A BLUE CIGAR" IN ORGELET - JURA -
All Jura municipalities could boast of having seen a flying saucer evolve in their sky. Until this day, Orgelet and the villages of the canton did not seem on the road of these mysterious machines. Well! this time, that's it, the saucers appeared, not in Orgelet itself, but in Chambéria where hunters saw in the sky, a kind of cigar prolonged with a blue light. At Montjouvent, at the same time, the inhabitants perceived a kind of sphere that plit in two blue luminous jets, resembling an enormous shooting star. When are the Martians coming?...
The information on this sighting is very poor, however it may suggest that it was probably a meteor; which split in two parts in the end.
