In 1979, ufologists Michel Figuet and Jean-Louis Ruchon mentioned in their book cataloging close encounters in France, that on October 5, 1954, in Sarlat-la-Canéda in the Dordogne department, a grocer had observed "a cigar and three saucers."
[Ref. fru1:] MICHEL FIGUET AND JEAN-LOUIS RUCHON:
The two authors indicate that on October 5, 1954 in Sarlat-la-Canéda in the department of Dordogne, a grocer observed "a cigar and three saucers."

[Ref. lcn1:] LUC CHASTAN:
Luc Chastan indicates that in the Dordogne with Sarlat Canéda on October 5, 1954 at an unknown hour, a grocer observes a cigar and three saucers.
Luc Chastan indicates that the source is "Ovni, Premier dossier complet... by Figuet M./ Ruchon J.L. ** Alain Lefeuvre pub. 1979".
In itself the case is obviously very poorly documented, since there is no hour, no details on the progress, and no primary sources indicated.
However, if we take into account other cases of October 5, 1954, or the beginning of October, in the Dordogne department, sometimes better documented, it seems that there was an event of some strangeness widely observed in this region. So far I have:
