The magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit #325 for January / February 1994 reportedly indicated that there was an observation of the "flying saucer" kind in Challans on November 4, 1954 at 7 a.m..

The information I was able to find so far are totally insufficient to give any justified explanation.
However, in that area, at that date and hour, there were many such poorly documented cases about a "flying saucer", and the best documented cases strongly indicate that a meteor passed by.
