The regional newspaper Le Provençal for November 1, 1954, reported via their press correspondent in Meyreuil that Mr. Nègre, a public works contractor, and Paul Pausset, a miner, both living in Meyreuil, had seen "yesterday", at 06:30 p.m., a white disk in the sky of the locality.
This disc was moving at a brisk pace and left behind a bright glow. It was coming from the direction of Martigues and was heading towards the Saint-Victoire moutains.

In the Berlin sky

The Berliners have in their turn had the privilege to observe flying saucers twice [unreadable] Berlin-West were witnesses of the phenomenon.
The first time, Saturday, around nine hours, in the district of Spandau, two "round and dazzling objects", moving at very high speed in direction of the West, appeared at average altitude.
Then, at the end of the same day, towards 9 p.m., the attention of several pedestrians of Halleschestor, in the center of Berlin, was drawn during a few minutes by a "body extremely shining similar to a star" which also moved at very high speed and without noise in the South-western to the North-Eastern direction by describing a vast circle. It is possible, one estimates, that in fact the same machines observed the morning regained their bases.

Thursday, towards 08:30p.m., whereas he went outside to get [unreadable] horses, Mr. André Melkior saw a luminous phenomenon in the sky. To the cries pushed by him, his wife and a neighbor ran to contemplate an object elongated shape and orange color, going from East to West and leaving behind itself like sparks of several colors.
Its passage above the village lasted approximately 20 seconds. It is the first time that a phenomenon of this kind is reported in the area.
A WHITE DISC CROSSES THE SKY OF MEYREUIL

Misters Nègre, contractor of public works and Paul Pausset, miner, both domiciled in Meyreuil (the Bouches-du-Rhone), saw, yesterday, at 06:30 p.m., a white disc in the sky of the locality. This disc moved at a sharp pace and left behind itself a sharp gleam. It came on the side of Martigues and moved towards the mount of Saint-Victoire.

The website indicates that on 28 October 1954 at 18:30 in Meyreuil, France, "An unidentified object was sighted, but with appearance and behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation. One object was observed."

The places may suggest that the whole of the observations are that of the same meteor. The hours and descriptions suggest it for some of the reports, but not for all.

It appears that for this day, the observations in Meyreuil and Nimes are probably that of a meteor of going roughly from the South towards the North at approximately 18:15 - 18:30. Perhaps the observation in Arry has the same explanation, no information confirms or denies this.
The observation in Yssingeaux could be that of this meteor only if the newspaper had badly understood the hour as well as the duration; in Long, the duration and the direction would both be false.
For Lézoux, nothing matches with the 18:15 meteor. For Colmar, the initial direction would be false, if it is reliable - it is given by a child. The direction according to the adult would correspond.
