Summary:

In a catalog of cases in the Allier, the ufology magazine Ouranos of the 3rd quarter of 1973 cited a case they said they found in the regional newspaper La Montagne, edition of Aurillac, for November 5, 1954.

Viscountess Jehan de Conny, who was watching a cuvée at Thoury, was attracted by a sharp and strange gleam. She turned around and saw above Beauvois something in the shape of an orange rugby ball that went up and down vertically and went out all of a sudden after 3 to 4 seconds.

The magazine reports that the date could be either October 28, 1954 or November 4, 1954.

Madame la Vicontesse Jehan de Conny, who was watching a cuvée at Thoury, was attracted by a sharp and strange gleam. She turned around and saw above Beauvois something in the shape of an orange rugby ball that went up and down vertically and went out all of a sudden after 3 to 4 seconds. The same phenomenon was observed by M. Charles Cruet, grocer at St-Pourcain-en-Besbre. The fact could have taken place on 11/04/1954. (La Montagne-Aurillac for 11/05/1954).

Explanations:

Map.

I do not have a justified trivial explanation for this observation, but the information is poor and the strangeness quite weak. Maybe this was headlights or a projector in the distance.

The Conny family has owned the medieval fortified castle of Thoury in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre since 1751.
