Summary:

The press reported on Thursday, October 28, 1954, that on October 27, 1954, several residents of Maranville in the Haute-Marne told the press they saw at about 07:40 p.m., a "mysterious machine" go down to fifty meters and leave horizontally in the direction of Longchamp-sur-Argon, to land in a field between two communes.

The craft would have been "high and flat" and "let out a luminous jet." Some witnesses would have claimed to have felt numbness as it passed, which newspapers interpret as the effect of a "paralyzing ray" of the saucer.

In 1997, author Jean Sider gave a version that he said to be from the Press, but without the mention of the "luminous jet"; he believed it was a UFO landing. "Skeptical" ufologist Renaud Leclet, having probably read only Sider's version, cited the case as example of a helicopter landing. But obviously, it was a meteor and its trail, the height of a "fifty meters" cannot be reliable, and the "landing" is just the passage of the meteor behind the horizon.

WHY 1954?

The French flap of 1954 is today more than controversial.

Thus, A.D.R.U.P. wanted to make a compilation of all the documents published in a Burgundy daily newspaper:

"Le Bien Public".

The interest of this catalogue is triple:
