The "skeptical" ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker told in their 1979 book "La Grande Peur Martienne" a text without giving the source nor a date for the event:
"11:35 p.m. - 60 - Hodenc-en-Bray: Mr. Maréchal Roger (aged 25), farm labourer - Mr. Maréchal Gilbert (aged 27) - Mr. Thiesselin Yves (aged 19, farm labourer, were returning from La-Chapelle-au-Pots and were going to the hamlet of Marivaux. They see three balls: 2 white almost motionless and 1 red moving rather quickly south towards north. No luminous trail. The balls increased and decreased by volume. Speed of a normal plane. Duration of the observation: 5 to 6 minutes."
They indicate that Mr. Thiesselin "does not have memories", that for him it is an error and that he saw nothing. They add that they could not contact the two other witnesses who are "both at the ... psychiatric hospital of Clermont."
