Summary:

In his 1997 book on the French wave of 1954, ufologist and author Jean Sider indicated that the newspaper Sud-Ouest, of Bordeaux, reported on page 12 for October 21, 1954, that on October 17, 1954, at 2 a.m., in the sector of Mirande in the department of Gers, Raymond Baron, 19, a farmer at Valentées, returned on a moped from a party in St. Médard.

Suddenly, at the height of "La Tournée d'Idrac", 500 meters from the summit of Agrolles, he saw a strange light. Arrived at the spot where the phenomenon was located, he saw nothing.

But looking up, he noticed in the sky an oval orb [sic] reddish-looking surrounded by a blue crown that seemed to head towards Mirande without making any noise.

Suddenly, at the level of "La Tournée d'Idrac ", within 500 m of the summit of Agrolles, he saw a strange light. Arrived at the level of the place where the phenomenon was, he did not see anything any more. But, looking up, he noticed an oval sphere of reddish aspect in the sky, which was surrounded by a blue crown. It appeared to move towards Mirande without making any noise.
