In his book "Flying Saucers Uncensored" of 1954, the English author Harold T. Wilkins told that in France in 1954, in Chatellerault as in Bugeat, a man alleged that beings of normal appearance or a being of normal appearance approached, kissed him, chatted unintelligibly, then entered a ten-feet-long cigar-shaped saucer and took off.
The "Bugeat" man is of course Antoine Mazaud, of the Mouriéras affair reported from Bugeat; there was no such case in Châtellerault, this was lilkely the Cenon - Vouneuil case of September 19, 1954.
It could have stopped there, but in 1979, the two "skeptical" - and really silly here - ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker added their own mistakes, believing that this is a case with a "chatting Martian" and assuring that there were "two pranksters" as witnesses.
The Wilkins version then appeared in Michel Figuet's catalogue, and in several foreign catalogs on the Web, as a case in Châtellerault...
[Ref. hws1:] HAROLD T. WILKINS:
The author indicates that in France in 1954, at Chatellerault like at Bugeat, a man alleged that normal-looking beings or a normal-looking being approached, kissed him, jabbered unintelligibly, then got into cigar-shaped saucers ten feet long, and took off.
[Ref. bbr1:] GERARD BARTHEL AND JACQUES BRUCKER:
The authors indicate that in Chatellerault the two witnesses seem to have been lucky because the two beings which they saw climbing into their craft babbled joyfully, but "it is not specified if the two pranksters had time to initiate themselves to the language of the 'Ufonauts'.
