A false Martian gets a beating in the Drôme

TAIN-L'HERMITAGE. -- The flying saucers claimed a victim last night: Mr. Neyret, a farmer in Tain-l'Hermitage, whom one of his neighbors mistook for a Martian.

In the darkness, his neighbor, a winegrower, had seen a silhouette that seemed extraordinary to him. "It's a Martian," he thought. He armed himself with a stick and struck poor Mr. Neyret repeatedly, who ended up with an injured ear and was forced to consult a doctor.
