MISTAKEN IDENTITY ON THE SAUCER!

"I was the 'Martian',"
the pilot of an American helicopte radmits

We previously reported - with all the seriousness such big news deserved - the statement of two Norwegian women claiming they were startled, in the middle of picking blueberries, by the landing of a flying saucer piloted by a very courteous Martian. Alas, thrice alas! The invasion of our continent by inhabitants of another planet appears to have been postponed indefinitely. The newspaper "Aftenposten" reports that American pilot Baily Faurot confirmed, during a stop in Oslo, that he had indeed encountered in the Mosjoen region of northern Norway the two individuals who mistook his helicopter for a flying saucer and him for a Martian. Readers may recall the description the two women gave of the mysterious man: a dark-haired man with long hair, foreign-looking, who tried in vain to communicate through gestures and signs. He was dressed in a sort of khaki jumpsuit without buttons, possibly with a belt. Norwegian General Notzfeld drew a moral from the story, stating: "The American pilot must have been in a joking mood, and the overactive imagination of the two young women, fed on pseudo-scientific fiction, did the rest."
