When the Martians come down to earth...

... or the strange encounter of a baker from Loctudy and a dwarf with a hairy face and eyes the size of a crow's egg...

QUIMPER (From our editors. -- Without wishing to take a position on a phenomenon which, at the present time, tends to pose a problem, and that citizens worthy of faith and day by day more numerous, observe, it seems that the fashion is with flying saucers and other also flying, also luminous, cigars. Daily, the press relates these discoveries, almost everywhere, in the sky of France.

Our region, of course, could not escape this kind of demonstration on which everyone wonders with a curiosity mixed with uncertainty and skepticism. And now to the already long list of "visionaries" is added a testimony - it is not the first in France, but it is, to our knowledge in the region - a bit special.

From one of these mysterious saucers descended a strange being. Let's give the following story the form that a 20-year-old young man, Pierre Lucas, a baker, in Pen-ar-Prat, some three kilometers from the town of Loctudy, on the side of the Larmo dunes, wanted to keep for it.

It was a little after 4 a.m. yesterday morning. A time when all good people enjoy a restful sleep. However, there are some - good people - who, at this early hour, are busy with daily business. So, at this hour, Pierre Lucas, who had gone down to the bakery to cook the first batch, went out into the yard to draw the water needed to make the dough. It should be noted right away that Pierre Lucas is a serious boy and that, in the opinion of those around him, he has a rather cool head.

In short, he had filled a bucket with water at the well, when, turning around, he saw a strange object, in the shape of a saucer, stop about five meters from him.

Despite the brutality of this appearance, he retained all his composure. The apparatus could be, he specified, of approximately 2.50 m. to 3 meters in diameter. From this celestial apparatus (sic) he saw a strange individual emerge: a kind of dwarf no taller than a seven-year-old child. The visitor approached Pierre Lucas who, of course, had put his bucket on the ground. He tapped him on the shoulder at the same time as he uttered incomprehensible words.

Still keeping his courage, the young baker returned to the bakery. The stranger followed him inside. It was then that in the light, Pierre Lucas stared at the apparition. It was indeed a dwarf of 1.20 m. in size approximately. He had an oval face and his eyes were the size of a crow's egg. In addition, the face was covered with hair. All the same, the young man went from surprise to fear. He shouted, called his boss. But before the latter had time to come down, the nocturnal visitor had turned on his heels, if he had any. The boss, Mr. Le Goff came out, went to the place where the flying saucer had landed. Not the slightest trace, not the slightest clue. There weren't more traces inside the bakehouse.

This is what Pierre Lucas, a serious young man of 20, and, moreover, strong well balanced, told to his entourage yesterday, who, no doubt, were quick to divulge it all around.

We leave it to our readers, who are intrigued daily by these reports of mysterious apparitions, to draw the conclusions they see fit. All the same, we would be very happy if these curious tourists left us their business card. Or one of their craft for display. What do you think?
