The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Liberté de l'Est, France, on February 23, 1950.
We received the following letter from Plombière confirming our information.
"Following your information published today, February 20, about the flying saucer seen in the Jura, I was able to observe the phenomenon myself at the same time in the sky of Plombière. Given the apparent slowness of the bolide, because it was indeed a meteor, I was able to calculate its characteristics approximately. Radial speed 15 km/second, height at the end of its course 33 km, direction east-north-east west-north-west. The observers in the Jura saw it when it was re-entering the Earth's atmosphere, which explains its red then purple color. I, who saw it at the end of its course, it appeared green then electric blue. Along its trajectory, it emitted blue sparks in disintegrating and then suddenly it disappeared into the sky, completely vaporized."
