Thursday evening, around [?] o'clock., Mrs. Decobert-Delhaye living at Vieille Rue, in Audruicq, was in her kitchen when she heard an unusual noise, resembling a pendulum ticking. Immediately she went out into the courtyard and was amazed to see in the sky, in the direction of Nortkerque, at a very low height, a ball of fire of multiple colors.
Frightened, she returned inside and through the window noticed that the ball remained motionless; a few moments later, she clearly saw the ball heading towards Calais.
Other people also noticed the passage of this phenomenon at the same hour.
