The article below was published in the daily newspaper Le Nouveau Nord Maritime, France, page 3, on September 10, 1954.
We read this morning, in the "Courrier Picard":
Residents of the Péronne region allegedly saw, on the ground, yesterday evening, a flying saucer between Estrées-Deniécourt and Foucaucourt-en-Santerre. Like a powder rocket, it was rumored last night in several neighboring municipalities of the Péronne district that a flying saucer would have been seen in the evening, by residents near the wood of Foucaucourt-en-Santerre.
How much credit should be given to these new claims?
At the time when the news reached us, it was not possible for us to carry out even a quick investigation to hear some of the witnesses of this new and strange appearance.
Be that as it may, the skepticism that could have arisen from the statements of the two workers of Acheux-en-Amiénois will be maybe be mitigated by the fact that this time, those who could give a more detailed description of the curious object would be quite numerous.
Before further information, we would be remiss to insist too much on this new "mystery".
