SEINE-INFERIEURE

A flying saucer in Eu?

Several people staying in the outbuildings of the Château d'Eu, above the Normandy cinema, observed, Tuesday evening, luminous and abnormal phenomena from 9 p.m. on, in an area between the road to Saint-Valéry and the cliff of Mers-les-Bains.

One of these people, all convinced and manifestly in good faith, is named Miss Witkowski, 21, clerk of notary in Eu. She stated that she had clearly seen a star-shaped object which would have landed near the Hermitage aerodrome, emitting red, yellow and purple lights, while, during this time, ten small disc would have drawn luminous circles in the sky, especially around the Saint-Laurent chapel.

This phenomenon would have continued until midnight and the lights emitted by these celestial craft were so intense, according to witnesses, that it was impossible to stare at them.

The gendarmerie of the town of Eu carried out long searches, but could not detect a trace of landing. In addition, the leaders of the Aero-Club, consulted, gave the most complete assurance that no aircraft had left the base or flew over the area during the night.

The mystery therefore remains intact despite the good faith and sincere conviction of the witnesses.
