MONTLUCON, October 21. - Huriel's gendarmes came to collect the testimony of a Mesples farmer, Mrs. Gentil, in the house in which a 14-year-old school boy, Jean-Pierre Courbet, had sought refuge yesterday morning, exclaiming: "Come quickly to see, I'm afraid, a flying saucer is chasing me".
The young Jean-Pierre, living in Saint-Palais (Allier) was riding a moped to go to the complementary course of Huriel, when, according to his assertions, around 8 a.m., he saw a large disc at the exit of the town of Mesples facing the sun, which suddenly started moving, approaching the earth at high speed.
The young schoolboy, intrigued, stopped to observe the phenomenon. The "saucer", a particular fact, stood vertically and not in a horizontal position. It appeared in the form of a large disc of silver color, haloed sometimes in red, sometimes in purple, and leaving in its wake a luminous trail.
The young schoolboy, more and more worried, then had the clear impression that the object was diving on him. Terrorized, he got on his moped and turned around, heading for Mesples, where he entered in the first farm.
Cigars and flying discs have appeared at eight places in the Italian sky in the past 24 hours. "Flying objects" have indeed been reported in Bolzano, Glorenza, Cortina d'Ampezzo, La Spezia, Veronne, Perugia, Spoleto and Naples.
Two witnesses speak of a large cigar followed by three other smaller ones. Another speaks of a large sphere of purplish color letting out filaments having the appearance of glass and another still of a disc which stopped twice while projecting rays of light in all directions.
