The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Voix du Nord, local issue of Boulogne, France, page 4, on October 23, 1954.
Thursday evening, around 7:30 p.m., members of the staff of the Aciéries de Paris-Outreau clearly saw, coming from the direction of the sea, then flying over Outreau, a luminous craft of circular shape. Some have even distinguished a sort of dome in the central region.
The craft emitted a very bright light and was followed by a trail of bluish flame.
Around 7:40 p.m., a Boulogne fishmonger, who, by car, was driving on the Wimereux road near the "Moulin Wibert" saw an identical phenomenon, rather low above the sea, formed by a very bright bulge, followed by a scintillating trail, the length of which he estimated at nearly a hundred meters.
The testimonies also agree that the mysterious craft which apparently spun at the speed of a jet plane was absolutely silent.
