THINKING HIS NEIGHBOR WAS A "MARTIAN", HE BEAT HIM UP

TAIN-L'HERMITAGE. -- Flying saucers claimed a victim last night. Mr. Neyret, a farmer in Tain-L'Hermitage, was mistaken for a Martian by one of his neighbors.

In the darkness, his neighbor, a winegrower, saw a figure that seemed "extraordinary" to him. "It's a Martian," he thought. He armed himself with a stick and struck the unfortunate Mr. Neyret repeatedly, who ended up with a torn ear and had to consult a doctor.
