Saturday evening, around 11:40 p.m., Mr. Georges Remy, residing on Rue Exelmans, had just returned home when he saw a luminous object in the shape of a ring.
This object was located roughly above Vandoeuvre and was heading toward Neuves-Maisons at a fairly rapid pace, though much slower than that of a jet plane.
The apparent diameter of the ring was approximately equal to one-third that of the moon. It was followed by a long luminous trail whose color varied from red to pale yellow.
Mr. Remy was able to observe the phenomenon for more than a minute and a half, after which he lost sight of it.
