ROME. -- In an interview with "Unita", the newspaper of the Italian Communist Party, one of the Soviet Union's leading astronomers, Professor Boris Kukarkine, stated that "flying saucers" are "nothing but an optical illusion, born from war psychosis." Professor Kukarkine, who heads the Soviet delegation at the World Astronomical Congress, added that no flying saucers had ever been seen in the skies over the U.S.S.R.
