Mysterious craft have flown over the Chalon region

We reported in a previous issue that a curious craft had been seen recently over the Chalon region. The buzz surrounding flying saucers, whose sightings seem to be multiplying, gave particular significance to this information.

We were able to gather the impressions of one of the witnesses of this strange object.

"I cannot," he told us, "say whether it is a flying saucer; I only know that it is an object unlike anything I have ever seen. I was in Chalon; the object was located roughly above Saint-Marcel, and it appeared in the shape of an open parachute but without a parachutist. Around the object, other smaller objects - at a distance one could mistake for birds - seemed to be moving. I noticed that during their movements, in the sunlight, they had silvery reflections."

"I cannot be more precise; as I was about to take my bicycle to get closer, I feared making a useless trip and that everything would have disappeared before my arrival."

We present this account as it was given to us. The only thing we will add is that we know the good faith of the witness, who does not have the habit of mistaking a bladder for a lantern.

Moreover, we know that many people observed this phenomenon on Sunday morning.

SPINNING TOPS IN THE SKY OVER MERCUREY

One of our readers from Mercurey wrote to inform us of the following events, of which he was a witness in recent days in Mercurey, where he lives.

In broad daylight, our correspondent said he observed, under a clear sky, two craft spinning at very high speed side by side like tops, emitting purple and yellow-red glows and seeming to head toward Le Creusot.

These craft appeared to be at a height of 300 to 400 meters, slightly domed on top, and about 5 meters in diameter. No popping sounds, added our correspondent, like those of jet planes or others that pass daily over Mercurey.

We thank our reader for his interesting report and note that, increasingly, these mysterious craft are approaching the skies over Chalon. Perhaps we will soon have the pleasure of seeing them move above our town.
