London, July 1st. -- A B.O.A.C. pilot, Captain James Howard, a veteran of Atlantic crossings with 265 flights under his belt, stated Wednesday upon arriving in New York that for eighteen minutes during his transatlantic flight, he was accompanied by strange flying machines. The event occurred while his Stratocruiser was about 270 kilometers (approximately 170 miles) from the Goose Bay stopover in Newfoundland, at an altitude of around 5,700 meters (roughly 18,500 feet).
The bizarre procession, which was several kilometers away, moved at the same speed as the Stratocruiser and consisted of one large object that appeared to be constantly changing shape, along with six smaller objects.
The eleven crew members and the 51 passengers aboard the aircraft also witnessed the phenomenon.
