My wife clung to me with a sprained arm, being white as sheet and in a state of shock. I have to admit that I wasn't too happy myself when we stumped along on our way back to the cottage. After one hour the hearing began to return, but still I am very bothered by buzzing in the ears. We didn't sleep very well either, neither that night nor the following nights. We considered leaving the cottage almost immediately and journey home, however, we decided to remain for a couple of days. We would not risk getting any extensive questioning from friends and neighbors. In our mental state, we could accidently reveal the true cause and perhaps be looked upon as nuts. We only do know that we saw what we saw, and that it is a relief to us to have got it onto paper. What we saw, we don't know; however, a plane, a helicopter, weather balloon, ball lightning or a star it certainly wasn't any of these!

We don't want any sort of financial reward or the privilege to become "public persons". Hence, we are not willing to sign this letter. The very reason for us to write, is the positive feeling in sharing this experience with others.

We do hope that it can encourage and comfort individuals with similar experiences, and who in fear of ridicule keep it secret".

As stated in the preface, the strangeness of this observation and the circumstances under which it was made, makes it a proper report for presentation in this magazine. We will certainly return to the case if new information should surface in the future.
