Summary:

The regional newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain for October 7, 1954, reported that on October 5, 1954, around 7:30 p.m., two young people from Hettange-Grande, Jean Da-Pont and Giuseppe Portolan, had seen in the sky a "flying saucer" with a diameter of about 10 meters, moving at a certain height and at an extreme speed.

It was oval in shape, yellow in color with red reflections. After flying in a wide arc in the northeast-southwest direction, it disappeared into the sky.

The newspaper ends its article by adding that other witnesses also observed "this operation."

Frisange, 10/ll/l954

Always and always "flying saucers"!! Under this title the Lorraine press receives information from Hettange-Grande. If we count the mysterious appearances made until today in our small town, we can conclude that our population is especially spoiled with flying saucers.

A first appearance was made on 8/3/1952. A craft turned at 3000 meters then slowly disappeared. From that day the observations followed one another: 11/4/1953, 9/28/1953 and 10/6/1954.

The source of several such articles is noted in indiscriminated manner as "Tageblatt + Luxemburger Wort - Articles translated by Monique Sassel (CLEU)".
