The regional newspaper Le Télégramme de Brest et de l'Ouest for October 26, 1954, reported on a sighting which took place "in the sky of Kerhuon" on October 21, 1954, around 7:30 p.m., the witnesses being a mother and daughter, who wished to remain anonymous "but whose statements cannot be doubted."
The newspaper quoted:
"We were returning from Brest and had gotten off the bus at Kerjean. We were then walking towards Kerhuon. The sky was dark, without a single star, when we saw, appearing to our left at the horizon's edge, a glow of a beautiful orange color that moved at an extraordinary speed, horizontally, passed in front of us, and disappeared behind the hills of Plougastel."
"At first, it was just a glow, but as it approached - within only two or three seconds - this glow took the shape of a completely flat disk with very distinct contours, followed by a cone-shaped trail of the same color."
"From our perspective, the disk appeared slightly larger than the moon at its largest quarter and seemed to have flown over the town from north to south, above the Kerhuon area, at an altitude of about 5,000 meters."
"As it disappeared behind the town of Plougastel, we distinctly heard a very soft and steady humming sound - not a whistling - which seemed to be emitted by the disk, but which we only perceived a few seconds after it had passed in front of us."
"This is, after all, how one hears the noise of a jet engine some time after the aircraft has passed."
"This sighting, followed by the sound of an engine, intrigued my daughter and me, and since then, we believe in flying saucers."

Case summary: A FLYING SAUCER IN THE SKY OF KERHUON ...
A flying saucer made us the honor of flying above the community, Thursday at about 07:30 P.M.. Let's leave the word to the mother and her daughter - who wanted to remain anonimous but whose assertions cannot be questioned - witnesses impressed by the phenomenon seen in the sky of Kerhuon.
We were returning from Brest and went down of the bus at Kerjean. We went by foot in the direction of Kerhuon. The sky was black, without a star, when we saw a gleam of a beautiful orange color appearing on our left from the end of the horizon, which progressed at an extraordinary speed, horizontally, passed in front of us and disappeared behind the hills of Plougastel.
When it made its appearance, it was only a gleam, but progressively with its approach, which took two or three seconds only, this gleam took the shape of a disc without any protuberances, with very clear contours, followed by a trail in the shape of a cone of the same cone color.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Finistère at Le Relecq Kerhuon on October 21, 1954, at 19:30 "A mother and her daughter tell their observation themselves: 'We returned from Brest and went down the bus at Kerjean. We moved then by foot in the direction of Kerhuon. The sky was black, without a star, when we saw appearing on our left of the end of the horizon, a gleam of a beautiful orange color which moved at an extraordinary speed, horizontal, passed in front of us and disappeared behind the hills of Plougastel. When it appeared, it was only a gleam, but progressively with its approach, which was carried out in two or three seconds only, this gleam took the shape of a disc without any relief, with very clear contours, followed of a cone-shaped trail of the same cone color.'"

That day's meteor.
Sometimes the passage of the flow of electromagnetic waves generated by the passage of a meteor in the air makes metallic objects on the ground "vibrate", which would explain the "gentle humming" heard by the witnesses in this case.
