UFOs in the daily Press:

UFOs in France, 1974:

This article was published in the daily newspaper Var-Matin - République, France, on February 12, 1974.

Weird object in the sky of Draguignan, Sunday at 6 p.m.

Who saw it?

It is difficult not to trust the earnestness, the objectivity of a known resident of Draguignan, who does not believe in UFOs, but was somewhat disturbed by what he saw, Sunday at 6 p.m., whereas he came out of his house (St Leger district) to take his car.

Randomly throwing a glance towards the sky, he saw there - full west - a weird display: a large orange gilded luminous point leaving behind itself two strange shining and scintillating wakes and having the shape of a narrow and reversed V.

"By seeking a comparison, one could have thought, said our interlocutor, a comet or more exactly one of these stars of Bethlehem than one hangs to the Christmas trees. The rising gleam moved towards the east, the "tail" disappeared one moment, then reappeared before dying out definitively while the circle continued to advance towards the east and escaped the sight above Malmont, at the end of four minutes approximately."

In all logic, it could not be a plane of which the flashing lights and the traces of jets do not have the shape left by the illuminated sphere and do not disappear suddenly.

It would be interesting, taking into account the serious testimony, which we collected, to know if others residents of Draguignan also saw something in the sky Sunday at 6 p.m..
