UFOs in Caux-et-Sauzens, France, 1976:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper Le Midi Libre, France, on November 17, 1976.

THE WEIRD LUMINOUS CRAFT SIGHTED BY SEVERAL RESIDENTS OF THE AUDE IN THE SKY OF CAUX-ET-SAUZENS

CARCASSONNE. -- At least four people living in Caux-et-Sauzens, about ten kilometers west of Carcassonne, claim that they were witnesses, on November 9 and 11 and almost at the same time (5:50 p.m.), of strange luminous phenomena in the sky above and around their village. It was first Mrs. Julie Roquefort, a lively septuagenarian, who, returning from Albi on Tuesday, saw on the main road, not far from Montréal, a strange red ball with flashing lights.

Two days later, Mrs. Annie Casaban, a village teacher, Misses Clarisse Pupato and Josiane Pauly, beautician, witnessed the same phenomenon. Mrs. Casaban's house, located on a promontory, was then lit "as if there had been big fireworks, a kind of rocket," she adds.

The inhabitants of Caux-et-Sauzens say that this kind of phenomenon is not exceptional in the area. In February 1974, for example, a few kilometers away, eight reliable people, as well as the gendarmes of Montreal themselves had observed the same craft. And, disturbingly, the testimonies of the people we met yesterday are almost identical.
