DIGNE. -- It was 7 p.m. Saturday when Mr. Devincenzi, butcher of Annot (04) returned from a round to the village of Braux. Suddenly, the road was illuminated and the driver sees "a ball of fire" in the sky which "escorts" him during several kilometers and disappears.
Strongly impressed, the butcher of Annot went to tell his mishap at the gendarmerie of Annot who opened an investigation...
Research undertaken to find Frank Fountaine, aged 19, the missing young man at Cergy-Pontoise (Valley-d'Oise) last Monday, remained vain yesterday.
The gendarmes continue their investigation, carrying out verifications after verifications. No legal procedure can be actually committed since no offence was made and since Frank Fontaine is adult.
Hearings of Jean Pierre Prévot and Salomon N'Diaye, two young 25-year-old people who always claimed to have seen a luminous object initially falling on the ground, then "a halation of light where there were three or four spheres surround the car where Frank was before rising in the airs", were temporarily suspended.
[Note: the Franck Fontaine case was a hoax.]
