CHALONS-SUR-MARNE. - A heavy goods vehicle driver from Châlons, Mr. Daniel Wagnon, 27 years old, claims to have seen, on several occasions, a "UFO" in the Champagne sky, not far from Châlons. His testimony was confirmed by some of his work colleagues.
Mr. Wagnon was traveling on the C.D. 1, between Châlons and Francheville (Marne), the other night around 3:40 a.m., when he saw, on his right, an orange-colored semi-circle, which was moving a few meters above the fields. The object disappeared, then reappeared several times, adjusting its speed, according to Mr. Wagnon, to that of his vehicle.
At 7:30 a.m., while loading his truck with chalk, in Francheville, the man distinguished, in the sky, a luminous dott which grew rapidly to stop some 500 meters away. During the numerous "back and forth" trips he made in the morning, to transport the chalk to a factory in Omey, about ten kilometers away, the "U.F.O." did not stop following him, declared Mr. Wagnon.
A truck driver, who was traveling at the same time on the R.N. 44, Châlons-Bitry, as well as several drivers from the Omey factory, confirmed that they had witnessed the same facts, while others truckers say they saw nothing.
