Several phone calls yesterday about the UFO of Thursday evening. Three were addressed to our agency from Apt and two from Avignon. All these voluntary statements confirm those made by the witnesses of the east of the department.
A resident of La Rocade told us to have observed the phenomenon in company of her husband and her son. Together, they saw several lights (seven or eight) of red orange color which moved very slowly. No noise; which confirms that it was not a plane. These lights advanced very slowly above the Durance. Our correspondant states that it is the first time that she saw such gleams, that she "did not believe in it" but that she was puzzled.
Our second correspondant, on the other hand, "believes in it". Two times already, and in full day, she saw UFOs. This is undoubtedly why she very carefully observed during three quarters of an hour the one of Thursday evening. Living the 8th floor of a tower, she sleeps with open shutters (in order to be awaked by the sun) and her attention was drawn Thursday evening by strange lights which she locates above Les Rotondes.
She explains to us: "Two groups of two reddish lights surrounded by a more important thing which seemed to have port-holes. The whole moved very slowly in the direction of Châteaurenard. Suddenly, there was like a star of very sharp light which approached the UFO quickly, passed below, made a half-turn before being absorbed in it".
If other people were witnesses of the Thursday evening phenomenon, we would like to know the result of their observations and we would be pleased to report about it.
