A luminous and mysterious object in the sky of Lyon

Lyon, April 16. (Correspondence "Le Figaro".) -- A luminous and mysterious object was noticed yesterday evening in the Lyons sky.

The phenomenon would not have drawn the attention if the machine, which was of strong dimensions, had not appeared to move. At the airfield of Lyon-Bron, the observers also recorded the phenomenon. Precise readings were taken by the official services which found no explanation for this presence in the sky.

The object was observed according to an azimuth of 309 degrees, even having a constant oscillation. It presented a slope of 52 degrees, but this slope decreased slowly and at the end of seven minutes was not more but 45 degrees. Observed using powerful binoculars, the machine presented triangular shapes strongly enlightened by the sun which had already disappeared. It resembled a large milk box or a large star, but finally, nobody knew what this mysterious object which crossed the sky of the city slowly was.

Note: the phenomenon irrisistibly evokes a ballon illuminated from below by the sun that just set, occasional cause of such reports.
