FLYING SAUCERS
IN THE REGION

TWO PLOMBIERES GENDARMES SEE A "FLASHING DISC"

PLOMBIERES. -- On September 23 at 9:45 p.m., a kind of luminous disc about 5 centimeters in apparent diameter and orange in color was seen by two gendarmes from the Plombières brigade during a patrol in the Talant area, at a place called "La Combe Volton." The disc, which appeared to be very far away, appeared and disappeared every ten seconds. They observed it for about ten minutes before the disc rapidly moved away in a northwesterly direction.

...WHILE IN DOLE, TWO STUDENTS SEE A STRANGE LIGHT

DOLE. -- On Wednesday evening, two young men from Dole who were in the Philippe Garden witnessed a strange phenomenon.

Here is what one of them, Jackie Chapoutot, 17 years old, living in Dole, reported: “I was walking in the Philippe Garden on Wednesday around 8:30 PM with a friend, André Lacour, 21, a student at the modern technical college of Dole. Suddenly, we were drawn by a strange sound, like a whistling. Looking up, we saw a bright green light in the sky coming from the northeast, heading southwest. The object, which was about the size of a football, left behind an incandescent trail. It moved swiftly and disappeared.

We had barely recovered from our surprise when the object reappeared over Dole. It remained stationary above the large bridge for about four seconds, during which we clearly saw its spherical shape, then it suddenly flew back in the direction it had come from.”

Still More Flying Saucers

PARIS. -- Flying cigars, flying saucers, and other mysterious craft have literally crisscrossed the skies of France, if numerous witnesses are to be believed:

In Bayonne: Several Bayonne residents, including a police officer, saw three flying cigars with the apparent size of rugby balls.

In Nancy: Several dozen workers at the "Sidelor" factory saw six flying cigars between 4:30 and 5:30 AM.

In Le Puy: Mrs. Chamard, from the Girette neighborhood, saw a flying object glowing red at one end.

In Epinal: A young butcher boy saw a spherical ochre-colored craft surrounded by a darker ring moving through the sky.

In Langeac: A white light was seen crossing the sky.

In Clermont-Ferrand, Gelles, and Vichy: A flying cigar was observed.
