Trancas UFOs in the Press, 1963:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Liberté de l'Est, France, on October 25, 1963.

Argentines say they saw saucers "that smell of sulfur."

Buenos Aires. -- A "squadron of flying saucers" caused panic on the night of October 21 to 22 at Trancas (Tucuman province).

The mysterious craft, which were six in number, remained suspended in the air for about forty minutes, a few blocks away from the first houses of the village, whose residents say their first concern was to get the kids to shelter.

The stories of all the eyewitnesses concur with the appearance of flying saucers, the atmosphere charged with the smell of sulfur and the temperature rose. Each craft was about eight feet in diameter and its walls were pierced with six portholes. Each of them seemed to scan the ground using two light beams, one white, the other red-purple, the blinding light shone throughout the campaign.

Strangely, the village dogs did not bark and it was only after the departure of the mysterious squadron, which was accompanied by the appearance of a sheet of white smoke, they yelled at length in the night then were peaceful again.
