On April 19, 2007, a 56 years old woman who wanted to remain anonymous, called police to report that ball of flame the size of two footballs had hit her as she was driven by her daughter from West to East Boldon, Tyne and Wear, U-K. The ball of flame came towards the car then hit its side, and as a split second earlier the woman had the window open, she was quite shaken. A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said officers were investigating, that there are superficial marks on the car which rubbed off which were caused by unknown means.
Sir Arnold Wolfendale, professor of physics at Durham University, wondered if this could have been caused by ball lightning.

It would be wise to report if there was any storm in the area at the time of the incident.
Mexican ufologist Ana Luisa Cid says that ufologist Alfonso Salazar received a a report that on April 16, 2007, at 08:55 a.m. a crew of an airliner flying southeast out of Mexico City reported coming across a large whitish-blue "ball of light" while the airliner was south of the Mexico City flying at an approximate altitude of 7000 meters. The crew said the phenomenon was flying at airliner speed from the south toward the north while their airliner flew from west to east.
Ufologist Lucy Guzman of ovni.net reports that in Puerto Rico, since March, mysterious lights are seen since the radar and control tower of the Luis Munoz Marin airport.
An administrative employee of the airport, eyewitness himself, told Guzman that he again saw more lights from the vicinity of the control tower the tower of control, between 08:20 08:30 a.m., some being red and white, shaking, and which disappeared suddenly. He thinks that they did not come from a plane because they were too large. This witness said he asked some pilots who however did not give him any information and did not want to talk on this subject.
Lucy Guzman now plans to open an investigation and to try to photograph these lights.
