At some unspecified time, local ufology group IPURN people reported that in Sitio Quinque, Currais Novos, Rio Grande Norte, Brazil, on July 1980, at 10:40 p.m., Severino Soares da Silva was returning home from visiting friends and was walking on the only paved street in the area when he noticed a strange luminosity emanating from a nearby field.
He thought that it was a car, approached it, and was amazed to see a large luminous football-shaped craft, which had an opening similar to a door and two square windows. The machine rested on two protrusions or crutches.
He then observed two characters in aviators clothes, with round helmets that covered their ears. The characters were of a size of approximately 1.20 meters.
One of the two was leaning under the object or bent towards the underside of the object, apparently carrying out repairs, the other stood in front of the object, observing his companion work.
Severino observed this during approximately 20 minutes, then, afraid, he decided to walk away, and when he arrived close to his home, he heard a loud noise coming from behind him and saw this same object now flying at an altitude of approximately 5 meters above the ground, emitting brilliant yellow-white lights. It then flew up in the sky and was lost from sight in the direction of Santana do Matos.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:
Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Sitio Quinque, Currais Novos, Rio Grande Norte, Brazil, on July 1980, at 10:40 p.m., Severino Soares da Silva was returning home from visiting friends and was walking on the only paved street in the area when he noticed a strange luminosity emanating from a nearby field. Thinking it was a car he approached the area and was surprised to see a large illuminated football-shaped craft, it had a door-like opening and two square windows. The object rested on two leg-like protrusions. At this point Severino observed two figures wearing aviator type suits and round helmets that covered their ears. The figures were about 1.20m in height, one of the figures appeared to bent under the object apparently in the act of performing repairs, the other figure stood watch in front of the object watching his companion working on the object. Severino watched the object and its occupants for about 20 minutes. Frightened he decided to walk away from the area and as he neared his home he heard a loud sound coming from behind him and saw the same object now flying at an altitude of about 5 meters from the ground. The object emitted bright yellow-white lights and later rose up into the sky disappearing in the direction of Santana do Matos.
Albert Rosales indicates that the source is Equipe IPURN Brazil.
For this low strangeness observation comprising descriptions of occupants in aviation clothes, an almost flawless description of an helicopter, information that would have been essential to be certain that it was not an helicopter is cruelly missing:
It is not obvious not to recognize a helicopter for what it is, however, a young kid who would not have seen any yet on the isolated altiplano might have misinterpreted such an apparatus. And unfortunately, the age of the witness is not indicated.
It is not specified whether an investigation was carried out or not, it is possible to know if such an investigation considered a helicopter neither if it was eliminated as explanation, nor why it would have been eliminated.
In addition, the observation takes place by night, the machine has headlights that were on when it took off, the small size of the occupants could be an indication of a distance of an underestimated observation. An helicopter is noisy on takeoff and in flight, and except in particular conditions, it is generally heard. And precisely, here, it is reported that it was noisy and loud when it flew away.
