The newspaper The Chronicle, of Canoga Park, seems to have reported on August 16, 1979 that in this town of California, USA, on August 4, 1979, at 10:35 p.m., a 60-year old woman and her grandson saw an object approaching them from the west.
It then hovered silently nearby above an apartment building across the street at 100 feet from them, and it was described as a flying saucer with a transparent dome with two humanoid figures inside appearing to have oversized heads.
The object tilted to one side, then returned to the horizontal, flew behind a tree, stopped, tilted the other way. It finally flew away back toward the west. The weather was clear and warm. The two witnesses were frightened by the craft.

There is a drawing without caption illustrating the case; which is of this appearance:
[Ref. rh2:] RICHARD HALL:
Richard Hall draws attention on a whole series of sighting reports from the same period describing the same small sort of two-seater saucer-shape craft. Among the cases indicated, that of August 4, 1979, in Canoga Park, California, at 10:35 p.m., when a woman and her grandson saw a disc-shaped craft with a clear dome on top approach from the west. Two humanoids beings with oversized heads were visible inside. The object stopped and hovered above an apartment building across the street, within a few hundred feet, it tilted to one side, then returned to horizontal, and flew behind a tree, stopped, tilted the other way. It finally flew away back toward the west. The weather was clear and warm. The two witnesses were frightened by the craft.
Richard Hall indicates the MUFON UFO Journal, December 1981, p. 15; the Canoga Park (Calif.) Chronicle, August 16, 1979, as source for the report.
[Ref. ud1:] "UFODNA" WEBSITE:
A record indicates that on August 4, 1979, in Canoga Park, California, USA, at 10:35 p.m., two large heads were seen through the clear dome of a disc-shaped UFO that approached and hovered. The UFO titled, levelled, moved, tilted opposite direction, flew to the west.
The website indicates it was observed by six female witnesses, typical age 60, in a canyon for ten minutes, and that the site was visited by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requiring major alteration of several parameters.
Given the description, the short distance, a confusion seems out of the question; however, only sparse information exists, there seems to be no investigation report and the possibility remains that the entire case only rests on an anonymous letter to a newspaper; which is not enough to exclude a hoax. I thus prefer to let a question mark on this one.
