Spanish ufologist Ignacio Darnaude published a rather confused message he apparently received, from someone saying that there was an individual in his vicinity suspected to come from "planet Ummo", a tall thin blonde-haired man, ham radio, talking in a metallic voice about phillosophy and science, who allegedly explained some scientific facts that were only discovered later.
The messenger says he has photographs of this "Ummite", that he is trying to locate him and would be in touch about it.
This of course belongs to the lore of the famous "Ummo" hoax, initiated in Spain by Jordan Pena, who sent hundreds of letters to the credulous, supposedly written by aliens looking just like us who landed on earth and were secretly studying the human society.

"Ummo" is a quite successful hoax initiated by Jordan Pena in Spain. Pena sent letters to credulous people supposedly written by aliens from a planet called "Ummo". The letters contained pseudo-scientific nonsense, a totalitarian morals with strong sexual obsessions, and told about the arrival on Earth of Ummites explorers, whom hid among the population, thanks to their looks which were - how convenient - the same as ours.
Dangerous sects like "Edelweiss", or "the Friends of the Brothers from Ummo" used th hoax initiated by Pena. Hoaxsters, both men and women, appeared in major Spanish cities like La coruna and Granada, but also in France and Argentina. In 1993 for example, Trinidad Pastrana admitted to have played the role of "Marisol", so-called contact of Ummites and recipient of their letters. In the south of France, a woman claiming to come from the Ummo planet was often seen in ufology meetings.
Many dubious characters used the Ummo myth to pass as Ummites - the best for that was to be tall and blonde and to utter with a monotonous voice pseudophilosophical and pseudoscientific remarks, and to target the credulous who believed in the nonsense of the Ummo letters. Some did that to seduce credulous women, others just to make themselves interesting, others were swindlers. One of the secret service in Franco's Spain, the SECED, also infiltrated this small world. All that involved penal affairs, financial ruins, group suicides.
Ignacio Darnaude is one of the Spanish ufologists who believed in the Ummites lore; he spent years compiling a "Ummocat" catalogue collecting cases of so-called close encounters of the third kind with these "Ummites".
This story is one of them. It seems here that Darnaude quoted a letter or message that one of his friends had sent him.
As often in Ummo lore, this is the story of the men who heard from a man about a man who heard about a man. From a serious ufology point of view, it is just unusable hearsay. There are no specifis, no names, no places, no dates, nothing that could ever be checked.
