AUGUST 30, 1978, GOBERNADOR DUPUY, SAN LUIS, ARGENTINA, MIGUEL FREITAS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

MUFON correspondant in Buenos Aires Jane Thomas reported on a case publicized in the newspaper "Cronica", Buenos Aires, Argentina, for September 27, 1978.

This newspaper reportedly told that the President of a UFO group brought to Mendoza a young man, Miguel Freitas, aged 23, a wood cutter. He had told the police he had been forcibly taken on board an unknown vehicle where its crew conducted tests, questioned him, and then gave him several "presents."

Freitas said that on August 30 at about 04:30 p.m., while taking a break from work, he saw a vehicle approach to within 2 meters. A humanoid figure bathed in bluish light emerged and approached him, hands forward. No face or lower limbs could be seen.

When Freitas tried to flee, the being pushed a button on its chest and Freitas was paralyzed.

Inside the craft - we are not told how he was brought in - a grayish substance was smeared on his mouth and needles were stuck in his arm. The nature of the "questioning" was not described.

Near dusk, Freitas was released in a remote spot about 35 or 40 km from where he worked, carrying off several objects including "a box from which the beings' voices came out." He abandoned it on the spot, but the other objects were reportedly given to the San Luis police.

Freitas underwent psychological and medical tests, with normal results except that he proved to have a very low IQ. A handkerchief he had used to wipe his mouth was analyzed and found to contain a dye resembling a powerful bactericide, but the species could not be determined.

French ufologist Pierre Delval specified that it had occurred in the province of San Luis, in Gobernador Dupuy, near the Tichry Talro station or place, and that the "president of a ufology group" was "Professor Vittorio Corradi."

The author indicates that according to the Argentinian press of the end of September 1978, a young logger was dragged by force inside a UFO.

He says that like in many cases close encounters, the witness is a simple person, not intellectualized, a 26 years old logger from the province of Saint-Louis, in Argentina.

On August 30, 1978, at about 04:30 p.m., local time, in Gobernador-Dupuy, near the Tichry Talro place, during a pause in his work, he saw a "vehicle" approaching him and being immobilized at the place where he was. According to his testimony "a humanoid shape" emerged from it, he saw neither its face, nor its lower ends.

This shape came towards him, its hands extended ahead showing its palms.

The being was entirely covered with a kind of mesh of bluish color. Panicked, the logger wanted to escape, but the being pressed on a button on its chest which paralyzed the logger. A few moments later he was inside the object, without knowing how it happened. There, small beings pricked his arms. After that they released him in a place of difficult access, approximately 40 km from the place where he worked.

Pierre Delval indicates that the case was studied by Professor Vittorio Corradi, president of a ufology research association in Mendoza, who subjected the "victim of the extraterrestrials" to various medical and psychiatric analyses, and the results "attested the good faith of the subject."

He wonders whether this is true or false, noting that he "however made a statement with the police force where he left hard evidence that these beings would have given to him, exceptionally. The logger also told to have been covered with a liquid by the beings, before they made "injections" to him. Thereafter, he cleaned the liquid with his handkerchief, which made it possible to carry out an analysis at a laboratory of toxicology of forensic medicine, which revealed the presence of powerful a antibacterial compound whose nature could not be determined exactly.

The examinations, encephalograms the witness was submitted to, were recognized as being normal. His IQ was given as very low, and thus it was excluded that he was able to invent a story of this magnitude. As for the hard evidence which were reportedly given to the police, one does not know what happened with it.

Delval notes that the palms ahead, the non-visibility of the face and the feet, also occurred with the humanoid observed by a young boy of the area of Grenoble in France on January 5, 1976. He indicates that as the logger could not know about these facts, it brings some credibility to his testimony, and that all these cases could allow for an interesting comparative study if sufficiently detailed elements were reported. But he considers regrettable that such cases generally happen "to people of very low intellectual level, or young boys", as if purposefully. He points out that no scientist or biologist was "captured by aliens".

The ufologist says that on August 30, 1978 in Gobernador Dupuy, Argentina, there was a case with a humanoid, paralysis, an abduction, communication, body probings, translocation, artifacts.

He says Miguel Freitas, 23, a wood cutter, was in an open area when he saw a UFO approach and a bluish-lighted humanoid emerge. He was paralyzed, then taken on board and submitted to "questioning": The beings communicated with him via a "voice box". They "pricked" his arms with some instrument, and released him about 40 km from the abduction site, after smearing him with a liquid substance reportedly analyzed as a bactericide. The "voice box" and other artifacts reportedly were turned over to the San Luis police.

Richard Hall says no follow-up information is available as of this writing.

Keith Basterfield indicates that on 30 Aug 1978 (1979) 1630hrs San Luis Province Argentina 1 male Freitas (23) A man saw a craft approach with a being present. This being pressed a button and paralyzed the witness. He was examined onboard and then released.

Keith Basterfield indicates that the case was reported in 1979.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Gobernador Dupuy, San Luis Province, Argentina, on August 30, 1978, at 1630, a 23-year old woodcutter was taking a break from work when he saw a strange craft approach to within 2 meters. A humanoid figure surrounded in bluish light emerged from the object and approached the witness with its hand extended forward. No facial features or lower limbs could be detected. The being suddenly pushed a button on its chest and the witness was paralyzed. He was then taken into the object and inside a grayish substance was smeared on his mouth and needles were stuck in his arm. The witness was finally set free in remote spot miles from where he was picked up. It was reported that he was able to keep several items from the object.

The website indicates that on 30 August 1978 at 16:30 in Gobernador Dupuy, Argentina, there was a "Florist incident.".

And: "Woodcutter approached by UFO, abducted by faceless entity, no lower limbs visible, covered in blue lights. Paralysis. Swabbed with bactericide (residue lab analyzed), pricked arm, exams, questioning."

And: "An abduction of a witness was reported. One red-orange ball, about ten feet away, was observed by one male 23-year-old witness at a ranch for 90 minutes. A faceless being, wearing a luminous blue suit, was seen."

And: "A 23-year old woodcutter was taking a break from work when he saw a strange craft approach to within 2 meters. A humanoid figure surrounded in bluish light emerged from the object and approached the witness with its hand extended forward. No facial features or lower limbs could be detected. The being suddenly pushed a button on its chest and the witness was paralyzed. Points to consider:

I found no information at all about "Vittorio Corradi" - an Italian name - who was said to be the investigating ufologist.

But I found a "Vitorio Corradi" who was the head of the "Instituto de Estudios de Fenomenos Extra Humanos", the Institute for the Study of the Extra human Phenomenon, a ufology group in Mendoza. Corradi was then 41 and taught language and literature in Mendoza.

The "low IQ" should not be taken for an argument of veracity, asother cases exist coming from "simple minded" people, which proved to be invented by these people.

The antibactericide whose nature was not found is hardly convincing either. If the man worked with wood, a antifongicide could have contaminated him and be misidentified as an undetermined bactericide.
