British ufologist Omar Fowler reportedly told in the Flying Saucer Review in 2006 that near Elizabeth, New South Wales, Australia, on August 1965, Dora and Derek, a couple, saw "luminous dart-like objects flying over the area" in the night, and receiving "communication from supposed alien entities" on a Ouija board, telling them to go at an isolated area near Lake Illawarra.
As they walked through the night, they felt that something was wrong, and allegedly saw a light aircraft flying backwards and forwards across the lake as though searching for something.
This "apparently scared off the aliens and they did not show up that night."
Later that same week, the couple "again had made contact" with the "visitors" and was told to go to the same general area.
The did this and, leaving the cover of the trees, they stepped into the clearing, paused for a moment, and peered into the darkness. Suddenly Dora grabbed Derek's arm and pointed to a nearby tree that stood out from the others on the edge of the woods and clear of the undergrowth.
Derek only saw a shadowy figure standing by the trunk, whereas Dora described the figure as tall and human-like, appearing to be dressed all in black in a type of one-piece suit. It was "tall and slim, but not thin."
The couple stood transfixed, peering through the darkness at the stationary shape, and after few minutes, they saw movement as the hands of the figure reached towards its middle as if it touched its belt, and then quite suddenly it disappeared.
Later as they examined the tree, and estimated that the figure must have been about 8 feet tall.

A Ouija board (below) is an accessory of clairvoyance. The person using it moves a pointer on letters, figures, and this, allegedly under a "parapsychological" influence, or in these case, it allegedly gives a "message from the extraterrestrial."

It seems that we have a couple believing in alleged "paranormal powers" via the Ouija board, and believes that something that according to their meager description looks like some shooting stars are alien spaceship.
The plane flying backwards might astonish some people, but there are many types of planes with canard wings placed ahead and even the propeller at the back, obviously giving the impression of a plane flying backwards, and the mention that this plane would have "frightened the aliens" when they did not show up says much about the irrational reasoning of the couple.
We have, finally, two quasi contradictory testimonys abut the "figure" seen close to the tree, since Derek seemsto distinguish nothing better than what he thinks to be a silhouette whereas Dora sees much more, even seeing a belt on the figure. All that at an unspecified distance, in the night, among undergrowth and trees allowing such illusions, particularly if one is convinced in advance to go meet aliens. Is it really impossible that the couple was victim of their own illusions and beliefs? This is what must be demonstrated to me, and so far it is not done.
