Ramon Eduardo Pereyra, a resident of San Francisco Solano, aged 38 at the time, reported that he was driving his estanciera-type van on a milk delivery tour from Pasco street to the Donato Alvarez street, beyond Monte de los Curas, Villa Florida, close to Quilmes, a city located 18 km at the south-east of Buenos Aires, on July 20, 1965, at 08:00 a.m., in daylight. The sky was cloudy and possibly rainy. He then saw, on his left, an object in the sky that he first thought to be a falling parachute or a falling luminous parachute.
As the object fell silently from the sky in some trees on a hill, he stopped his van on the way at some 600 meters from the place where it seemed to have fallen. He walked towards the place, crossing a small brook and going under the General Belgrano railway bridge.
In a clearing, bordered by the Donato Alvarez way that joins San Francisco to the Pasco street, he saw an apparatus of chromium color, egg-shape, supported by metallic feet, posed on the ground. Its higher half was transparent, of glass, and its lower part was metallized, extremely smooth, without joins or suture. It had some sort of exhaust holes or exhaust pipes, and a control panel at the front, on which there was a yellow light and a green light. The object had no other lights than those. Pereyra later compared the size of the craft to that of a three-wheels car model that was known at the time, and estimated that the craft's size was of 1.5 to 2 meters.
Pereyra arrived at the machine close enough to touch it, without being seen, and peeked inside. He saw man inside the craft, sitting at a control board. Pereyra did not touch the UFO, by education and because there was this man inside. The man had a hood on the head and did not show any sighs of life, as he was looking in the opposite direction.
Looking up, Pereyra noticed that a man, at some 30 to 40 meters from there, was coming to him, walking fast, as if this man had seen him. That man seemed to be angry for some reason. That man had short blond hair, a piece of paper in a hand, a large belt, a wallet on the side, binoculars around the neck, short boots, a tight-fitting suit with a hood on his shoulders. His general features were clearly of a normal human and Pereyra makes a point that nobody would have been amazed at that man's appearance.
Pereyra asked him what was going on, but the man did not answer, went at the UFO, raised a "cupola" and climbed right in. The UFO immediately took off, with some explosion noise that seemed to have come from its exhausts, with the sound of an autonomous welding station. The craft rose vertical up to the height of the treetops at approximately 20 meters, then accelerated and flew away.
Pereyra said that he did not think to run away, he did not think about UFOs and was not afraid, but was very irritated and disturbed at what he had seen as he could not comprehend what it was. He tried to reason himself, went back to his van, but did not resume his tour. He talked to a police officer from the San Martín and Donato Alvarez streets police station about the encounter. They both went to the location but saw nothing burned on the ground. Pereyra heard something about police forces going to investigate the place two or three days later, who apparently detected where the object had landed using some detection devices.
Pereyra is adamant that he saw something real and was not hallucinating but conscious. He thinks that what he saw was not a flying saucer and that he does not believe in flying saucer, but years later he was still unable to provide an explanation of what had happened.
The report made a big fuss at the time, it seemed to have been publicized in the newspaper La Cronica, of Buenos Aires, for July 25, 1965. In 1999, Pereyra specified that this happened because a newspaper of the area who were used to go get the news in the police stations was told about the encounter by police officers, who sent the journalists at his home. It seems that it entered the ufology casuistry abroad because of the newspaper's article, and it looks like there was no investigation by ufologists and that no police report was made available.

The authors note that during the flap of July 1965, a daylight sighting took place at Quilmes, Province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina, where Ramon Eduardo Pereyra was driving his van when he saw a parachute-like object drifting down from the sky into some trees.
Pereyra investigated and saw a chrome-colored, egg-shaped craft standing on metal legs, with a transparent top. A blond young man dressed in a "plastic diver's suit" with small boots and a briefcase-like object attached to his leg stood besides the craft.
Pereyra approached the craft without being seen by the young man, looked into a porthole and saw a second man seated at an instrument panel. The man outside noticed him then, and came toward him with an angry expression on his face. Pereyra attempted to talk to the man, but he immediately stepped into the craft which rose at once to a height of about 100 feet, and moved away in swift, level flight.

Pereyra was driving near Monte de los Curas when he saw a parachute-like object land. A blond-haired pilot, wearing plastic coveralls and small boots, seemed to study a piece of paper. Inside the craft was another man seated before an instrument panel. Shortly thereafter the object took off."

The author indicates that in Quilmes, in the south-east of Buenos-Aires in Argentina, on July 20, 1965, according to the newspaper La Cronica of Buenos-Aires for July 25, 1965 and the book The Humanoids by Charles Bowen, around 8 a.m., Ramon Eduardo Pereyra was driving in its truck beyond Monte de los Curas.
He then saw an object in the sky, "similar to a parachute" which went down fast towards the ground, and which appeared to land on a hill, behind a curtain of trees.
Pereyra was intrigued and went there to check. He discovered in a clearing, a craft in the form of an egg and of chromium color, which rested on kinds of metal crutches. The higher part of the machine was transparent, the lower part completely smooth and plain.
Not far from the craft, a humanoid being stood. He was of young appearance and had long fair hair, and seemed to be studying a "piece of paper." He was in a tight-fitting suit, had small boots and "a kind of towel attached to his right leg."
Pereyra approached in silence and arrived at the craft unnoticed. There, he looked through the transparent part and saw a second person inside, who was sitting in front of what seemed to be a control panel.
At this time, the first being noticed Pereyra and moved towards him with an expression of anger. Pereyra asked him "What is going on?", but the other did not answer, immediately climbed in the craft which rose very quickly until an altitude of about thirty meters before moving away at a regular speed.

Paco Martínez brings on information on the case that was not in the ufological literature:
The case had occurred in El Monte los Curas, "the Mountain of the Priests", Villa Florida, within 18 kilometers of the city of Buenos Aires. The name of the place come from the fact that it was being said there had been a monastery there in the past. The site is bordered by the Donato Alvarez way that joins San Francisco to the Pasco street.
In 1965, Ramón Eduardo Pereyra was 38 years old. He notes that his report made a big fuss at the time, but that an interview is not superfluous to recall the details, and he then gives the transcription of his 1999 interview with the witness.
The event occurred on July 20, 1965, towards 08:30 a.m., under a covered and rainy sky. The witness drove his estanciera-type van and first noted the presence of a "luminous parachute."
He stopped on the way within some 600 meters of the place and continued by foot, crossing a small brook and the General Belgrano railway, and at this point in time he realized that what he first thought was a parachute was a small ovoid object, and occupants.
Pereyra indicated what follows to Paco Martinez:
"Don't tell me it was another thing, because they were really two normal human beings! The only (abnormal) thing is that they did not want to have a conversation with me. I was in a milk delivery round and it led me from Pasco street to the Donato Alvarez street with my estanciera van, and I saw this "thing" falling towards the left. I stopped and I crossed the Donato Alvarez street, under a railroad bridge and it is there that I saw the apparatus."
"It was not a hallucination, I observed the neighborhoods well, and I was conscious. I approached, I turned around the object and I saw that there was a guy sitting inside, nicely dressed. I look up, and see that there was another one, and I go towards him. I am not bold, but I did not think to run away at all, I did not even think it was a UFO or something unusual. They were normal people."
"When the one who saw me came, walking fast, and when he passed on my side, I said to him, "what's going on, maestro?" But he did not start a conversation, he did not say anything. If he was a human being or an alien, I do not know; he was a man, blond, with a tight-fitting suit and a wallet on the side of a leg, and also a pair of binoculars hung around the neck."
"When he had started to come, I think that he had seen my before I saw him. I stopped while checking on him. The guy raised a "cupola", and he entered the apparatus; which then rose, it made a sort of explosion, like an autonomous (welding station), and rose of 20 meters approximately and went away at high speed."
"I was a bit irritated, I told to myself: you are insane, you are dreaming. It is something out of the ordinary, which one cannot apprehend immediately. Well, I start walking back, rather disturbed. I start the van, but I do not resume work; I make a U-turn."
"At that time, there was a detachment of police force in San Martín and Donato Álvarez [streets]. I say to this militiaman [police officer]: would you hear me out, because I saw something rare...?, and I tell him what I saw, and where, and all finishes there."

Paco Martinez asks him at what distance he was from the object; Pereyra answers that he was in position to touch it, that he did not touch it by education, and owing to the fact that there was somebody inside.
Paco Martinez asks him whether the person who was inside was not checking him out; Pereyra answers that the man inside was checking on nothing, that he was like dead, with a hood over the head. The other had like a kind of "thing", [a lid or a cupola] to enter the object.
Paco Martinez asks him whether the man inside the object might have been checking out the opposed direction, turning his back on Pereyra, and Pereyra confirms that each one looked at opposite directions.
Martinez puts forward the idea that the object was small. Pereyra tells him that there existed at that time small cars with three wheels, asks him whether he remembers those, and says that the object was of that size, but egg-shaped.
Martinez suggests that the man outside passed at two meters of Pereyra, asking whether it this is correct, and Pereyra says that it was as when one goes towards somebody to speak to him, when you almost bump into the person, but that he saw the man taking a small step on the side and making a gesture of anger, while himself stayed there looking at him. The man had a cap in the back, at height of the shoulders, he had fair hair, combed, of a haircut that at the time one called "combed in pastes" [like noodles?]. He was neither tall nor small, and he had nothing particular, he would not have drawn any attention. He had binoculars in the right hand. Pereyra thinks that this man saw him before he saw him, that he was then at some 30 or 40 meters of him and this man came towards Pereyra quickly.
Martinez asks to him whether there were traces once the object had flown away; Pereyra indicates that he went away from the premises, but when he came back with the police officer, they noticed nothing burned.
When Martinez asks of him how much time ran out before the investigators came to the location, Pereyra answers that it was after two or three days, and that it was said that they came with devices and detected the place where the object had been using these devices. They were police officers of the Province of Buenos Aires.
When Martinez asks him how the object left, Pereyra indicates that it rose quickly to the height of the tree-tops, some 20 meters, vertically, and then it slided away, giving the impression to have become longer; he thinks that it is the impression that one gets when an object accelerates.
When Martinez asks to him whether the object had lights, Pereyra indicates that the only lights were a yellow light and a green light, inside, on the control panel [dashboard].
Martinez asks him whether the object made noise. Pereyra talks about a noise like that of an autonomous welding station.
Martinez asks him what he had seen from the van in direction of the mountain, and Pereyra indicates that the morning was cloudy, that he believed that it was a parachute, that it fell on the trees and that he went to see what it was.
Martinez asks him how the Press heard about his sighting. Pereyra answers:
"I must point out that they were told by the police force. There were people of a newspaper of the area who were used to go get the news in the police stations. It is the police force who told them about it, and who sent these journalists at my home."
Martinez tells him: "You told me that something changed in your way of thinking, that something changed..."
Pereyra answers:
"At the time I started to think about what it could have been. Something outside what is normal. At nights, thereafter, I was thinking about it, but nothing bad, only what that could have been. What I saw disturbed me."
Martinez asks him to describe the object:
"Like an egg. The higher half was of glass, the other was metallized, and with conduits through where the explosion came out when it took off. In one of the parts there were kinds of exhausts, and a panel at the from. I calculated that the apparatus would measure 1.5 or 2 meters."
Martinez asks him about his interpretation of what he saw:
"I saw something real. I did not see a flying saucer, I do not believe in flying saucer, but what came down in the mountain was something unusual, that disturbed me."

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Quilmes, Buenos Aires Argentina, on July 20, 1965, at 08:00 a.m. Ramon Eduardo Pereyra, 38, was driving when he saw something like a "luminous parachute" fall from the sky. On walking into the woods the found a metallic ovoid craft 12 ft in diameter. Inside its upper portion, which was a transparent dome, were two "form fitting" chairs, back to back, and a human like figure wearing a spherical plastic helmet, who did not see the witness, occupied one. About thirty yards away from the object stood another man, about 6 ft tall, looking up at the sky; he was blond, similarly clad in a lead gray one-piece garment with a monk-like hood, and he was holding a piece of paper in his hand. When he saw Pereyra, the man hurried back into the craft; as he passed the witness asked him if there was some sort of trouble, but got no answer. The man was carrying a pair of large binoculars and he had a sort of cartridge like pouch on one leg. When he got back in his seat, the vessel took off vertically with a slight humming sound, becoming luminous as it gathered speed. There was no mention in the report of traces at the site.

In this case, there are at least some reasonable indications that the witness is a real person and did report what we are told he reported, without giving up his story thereafter. On the other end, it is indeed a one-man-story, without additional witnesses or physical traces or any evidence. As no ufological investigation or police report seems to be available, it does not seem reasonable to discard the possibility that the story is purely invented. Additional information could make it possible to go beyond the simple doubt: if, for example, it could be confirmed by independent third parties that the case appeared in the press only through the police force, it would become more difficult to support than Pereyra invented the story. But it could also appear that sources of the times tell a different story.
All the usual explanations seem at fault here. It is difficult to believe that he would for example have witnessed the landing of a quite ordinary helicopter, or that this craft and its very human occupants came from another planet. The case is probably one of the rare that hardly lets room for one or the others of the usual explanations. The wisest is perhaps to maintain skepticism based on the fact that there is only one witness and the present lack of any corroboration.
